My Parol Coloring Book
A way of making children become familiar with a particular subject is to engage them in activities that tell stories. Coloring books are good literacy tools because they engage the child's motor, verbal and intellectual faculties.
Here are some ideas on how to use the coloring pages for storytelling about parols.
- Print the coloring pages, one set for each child.
- Have the child practice reading the paragraph written above each page. Have the child point to each word and read the words out loud for the others to hear.
- Let the child color at least three pages.
- Have the children post their colored pages on the refrigerator, bedroom door, or places that are frequented by the family.
